Advanced Training and Education
Advanced training and education is one of the key activities of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In line with their professional situation, interested persons have a broad range of advanced training and education facilities from which to select their specific programs, from part-time study courses and seminar events to individual lectures.
Center for Advanced Technological and Environmental Training
The courses offered by the Center for Advanced Technological and Environmental Training comprise topics such as safety at work, environmental protection and protection of health; management; information and communication technology; new technologies; and international know-how transfer as well as project management; presentation; conflict management; time management; foreign languages.
Akademie für Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung Karlsruhe
The Akademie für Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung Karlsruhe offers all interested citizens the opportunity to acquire scientific knowledge, techniques and skills. Courses, lectures, excursions and guided tours cover a wide range of topics and are structured in the categories Natural Science / Technology / Health, History / Philosophy / Theology, Literature / Cultural Studies / Film Studies and Musicology / Art History.
National Institute for Science Communication
In seminars and workshops, the National Institute for Science Communication provides scientists, students and professional public relations staff with the basics of communicating research in an understandable way. The courses offered cover a diverse range of topics, including, for example, argumentation, writing or visualization, through to media training or risk communication.
HECTOR School of Engineering and Management
Junior staff can attend six master study courses at the HECTOR School of Engineering and Management. The courses are run in English and provide engineers, computer scientists, and economists with specialized knowledge in engineering combined with management know-how. The programs are designed for a period of 18 months including ten attendance periods of two weeks each at Karlsruhe. After successful completion, students are awarded the Master of Science degree of the KIT.
Online Courses
KIT offers free online courses via the "Open Courses KIT" platform, which are not linked to any conditions. The training offered includes, for example, courses against chronic procrastination, on acquiring research skills, on recognizing fraudulent messages, or on safeguarding good scientific practice. The online-based advanced trainings combine knowledge transfer with interactive elements as video clips, and tasks.
