Professor Gerhard Rechkemmer Will Speak to the Public

Foods and nutrition in the future - a presentation covering this topic will be made by Professor Dr. Gerhard Rechkemmer on Monday, October 15, 8 p.m. at the Universität Karlsruhe, lecture hall 37 (Englerstraße 7, building 20.40). The president of the Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Food addresses all citizens, who are interested in healthy nutrition and wish to inform themselves about changes in the foods offered and the nutrition behavior. Rechkemmer: “A tendency towards food that does not only supply us with nutrients, but also promotes health can be observed today already.”


The presentation is part of the two-days symposium “Fungi - Toxins - Food” organized by the “Food and Health” project on October 15 and 16 at the Institute for Applied Biological Sciences of the Universität Karlsruhe. The symposium will focus on molds and their toxins as well as on their risks. The research project funded by the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and the Universität Karlsruhe is aimed at bundling all competencies in the field of food safety in the region of Karlsruhe.
