The 2024 Ulf Grenander Prize for Stochastic Theory and Modeling of the American Mathematical Society is awarded to Tilmann Gneiting, Scientific Director of the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) and Professor of Computational Statistics at KIT.

Gneiting is honored for seminal work in environmental and stochastic modeling, with applications to computational weather forecasting, and for research in probability theory and mathematical statistics.
