Second KIT Career Fair with more than 220 Companies

Regional and International Employers Present Themselves on KIT Campus South – Program In-cludes Expert Presentations, Workshops, and Trainings for Applications

The second Career Fair at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from May 20 to 22, 2014, 9.30 to 16.30 hrs, in the tent on the Forum and at the Audimax on KIT Campus South (Straße am Forum 1) addresses all, who want to inform themselves about traineeships and professional careers. On the three days, students, doctoral students, and graduates of KIT and of the other universities in Karlsruhe will have the opportunity to meet potential employers and establish first contacts.

 

At the second KIT Career Fair, companies of various branches will present themselves to the students: From energy and chemical companies to automotive manufacturers and suppliers, from finan-cial service providers to consulting companies to suppliers of soft-ware solutions and communication technologies. Their booths can be found in the tent on the Forum on KIT Campus South and in the Audimax lobby. The three topical days focus on certain disciplines. On Tuesday, May 20, these are natural sciences, the humanities, and economics. On Wednesday, May 21, engineering sciences and on Thursday, May 22, informatics will present themselves. The app for the KIT Career Fair provides information about which company will present itself when and where. This digital fair catalog supports interested persons in planning their visits. Under the search term “KIT Career Service”, it is available in the respective stores for cost-free downloading by iOs and Android smartphones. The application supplies information on the exhibitors that may be filtered according to branches and disciplines. In the company profiles, events taking place during the fair and job vacancies are displayed. Using the app, an individual watch list can be generated.

 

Short presentations of the companies will provide insights into routine work and current projects. Interested persons are provided with detailed information on career options and may establish direct contacts to representatives of the companies. During workshops, students can work on close-to-practice subjects of the companies. (For the workshops, an application is required at http://www.rsm.kit.edu/veranstaltungskalender). The framework program also includes expert presentations and photo shootings for applications. Prior to the KIT Career Fair, a “warm-up” will be organized from May 12 to 14. Here, participants will be given advice and training in drafting application files and preparing for interviews.
