Based on various indicators, the new EU university ranking scheme, U-Multirank, ranks the KIT on the highest level in the categories of research and knowledge transfer. KIT’s strengths in research are reflected by above-average numbers of scientific publications, post-docs, and third-party funding. Many patents, cooperation projects with industry, and spinoffs document that the KIT succeeds in transferring research findings to society.
U-Multirank wishes to cover the variety of international universities by a variety of criteria. On the web portal, interested persons can compare universities according to own criteria. The underlying data were partly supplied by the universities and partly taken from surveys of students and searches in publications and patent databases.
