With top rankings in eight of twelve categories, the informatics program of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is most popular among students. This is a result of the CHE University Ranking published today. The programs of sports and chemistry were also rated excellently. Moreover, KIT turned out to be top in the category of “Support at the Beginning of the Studies.”
At Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, students of the bachelor’s programs of informatics, sports/sport science, and chemistry are highly satisfied with their studies situations. In a survey of the CHE University Ranking, the subjects of informatics (eight of twelve possible top rankings), sports/sports science (seven of thirteen possible top rankings), and chemistry (five of seven possible top rankings) scored particularly well. Students were asked for their general satisfaction with the studies as well as for central aspects of their studies, such as the scope of programs offered, pedagogic support, infrastructure on the campus, and practical relevance.
In the second part of the ranking, the “Facts on Academic Education and Research,” informatics and sports/sports science received above-average results of all evaluated eight programs of KIT. Informatics scored well with its strong international orientation and its number of doctorates, whereas sports/sports science was ranked good in the area of practical relevance.
When considering all indicators of the ranking that is based on judgements of students as well as on the collection of characteristics, KIT’s informatics and sports/sports science programs are among the most popular and best in Germany (informatics: Place three in Germany, sports/sports science: Place two in Germany).
Moreover, KIT was ranked excellently in the category of “Support at the Beginning of the Studies” for five of eight programs evaluated. In this category that is particularly important for student beginners, starting offers of the universities for orientation, advice, and competence building are evaluated.
