In the “QS World University Rankings by Subject,” KIT in national comparison reaches second place in the subject area of Natural Sciences and fourth place in the subject area of Engineering and Technology. In Natural Sciences, KIT is among the top 50 worldwide in Materials Sciences (place 29) and Physics (place 46). In Engineering and Technology, KIT is among the top 50 in Chemical Engineering (place 32) and Mechanical Engineering (place 35). Altogether, seven disciplines of KIT reach the top 100 worldwide.
