We are delighted to invite you to the next session of our "maKeIT HAPPEN" event series, dedicated to translating research into impact. Engage with inspiring individuals and discover how your work can extend beyond academia.
**Event details:**
Date: 25 June 2024, 17:30 - 19:00 at Cube (Bld. 30.29)
Speaker: Dr. Volker Stelzer, ITAS/KAT
**Topic: "Energy transformation: From theoretical research to communication with society?"**
maKeIT HAPPEN is designed to give KIT researchers and staff the opportunity to connect with the maKeIT team, participate in an interactive setting full of insightful stories and explore our diverse services.
**About Dr. Volker Stelzer:** Dr. Stelzer, a key member of ITAS since 2001 and of KAT (Karlsruher Transformationszentrum für Nachhaltigkeit und Kulturwandel) since 2021, has played a crucial role in projects that combine research, education, consulting and process support. His work focuses on transdisciplinary and transformative approaches to develop sustainability solutions in collaboration with academic and practitioner partners.
With a strong focus on participatory research, Dr. Stelzer believes that true energy transformation requires engaging with local communities to discover what resonates and what practical solutions can be implemented. This approach challenges the notion that change can be achieved through technological innovation alone, without societal buy-in.
Dr. Stelzer is also known for his active public engagement, regularly appearing in various media, visiting schools and addressing broad societal issues. His approach emphasises that we must not only conduct research, but also communicate effectively to inspire and engage people in the journey towards sustainable change.
**Why You Should Attend:** Hear Dr. Stelzer share his personal journey and experiences that led him to his current role, providing an intimate look at the paths and decisions that shaped his career in sustainable development and participatory research. This session offers a unique opportunity to gain insights from his stories and learn how he navigated the challenges and opportunities of making a tangible impact on society through research.
Join us to be inspired and to explore how we can collectively drive the change we wish to see in the world. Let's come together to learn, inspire, and discover how we can maKeIT happen.
We look forward to seeing you!
